For our hardcore freshwater anglers we can target bass during this time of year, but temps locally will play a major role. Warm days can get you on Peacock Bass, but on cooler days it may be wiser to reserve a Everglades based Largemouth Bass fishing trip with us instead. To know which is best and what is particularly the best bet for your chosen trip dates, please reach out to the Captain here with any questions.
As we gear up for another great year here at Swamp to Sea Guide Service we start setting our eyes on the January 2019 fishing opportunities here in Palm Beach, Florida. January is considered the middle of winter here in this part of the state, and in this, temps can swing both ways. With some days colder and some days warmer - the fishing continues to be strong. While we can continue to target freshwater species such as bass, we really set our sights on inshore fishing here in the area.
January is the perfect time of year to really go after snook on both light tackle spinning gear as well as on the fly. At the same time, black drum fishing "warms up" during this season, as well as sheepshead fishing. Cooler filling trips can be had with some great inshore snapper fishing as well. Anglers can also expect to see croakers show up here in there throughout the month.
